Guild Dominates at Sebring in Racing Prodigy P3 Championship Round 2

Guild strengthened their grip on second place in the Racing Prodigy P3 Championship with a commanding performance at Sebring International Raceway, securing decisive victories against both Williams Esports and Suckerpunch in the latest round of competition.

Will Redford led the charge for Guild, claiming first place in both head-to-head races and securing second place overall for the weekend's performance. The 19-year-old demonstrated exceptional adaptability, mastering the notoriously bumpy Sebring circuit while handling dramatically shifting weather conditions – from 28 degrees Celsius on day one to a bitter 8 degrees on the second day of racing.

In the battle against Williams Esports, Guild's depth of talent was on full display as teammates Nathan Maximin and Laurens Beerten supported Redford's victory, helping the team secure three of the top four positions. This strong team performance has helped Guild extend their advantage over third place in the championship standings from two points to a more comfortable 13-point margin.

Mind the Gap

The results at Sebring build upon Guild's impressive showing in the championship opener at NOLA, where they initially claimed second place with a split of one win and one loss. Under the guidance of motor racing legend Katherine Legge, who serves as the team's coach, Guild's drivers continue to demonstrate remarkable progress in translating their sim racing expertise to real-world track performance.

Looking ahead, the championship moves to Homestead-Miami Speedway for the next round on February 4-5, with three more race meets remaining in the season. While TC Racing, football superstar Thibaut Courtois’ team, maintains their lead in the championship, Guild's recent performance suggests they will push the front runners all the way.

Creating opportunities

The team's success in the P3 Championship coincides with an exciting development for Guild – the upcoming launch of the Drive Lounge at the Sky Guild Gaming Centre. This new sim racing facility represents Guild's commitment to making motorsport more accessible, offering aspiring racers a pathway from simulation to real-world racing, much like the journey being undertaken by their current roster of talented drivers. Coupled with Guild offering two professional sim racing contracts for women through the Women’s Esports Finals in partnership with Sky Broadband, as well as Guild’s victory in the British F4 Esports Championship, and Guild are truly acting as a driving force for opportunities in motorsport.

The Racing Prodigy P3 Championship continues to showcase the growing convergence of esports and traditional motorsport, with Guild at the forefront of this evolution. With their strong team performance at Sebring, featuring Redford, Maximin, Beerten, and 17-year-old Aimee Frame, Guild has demonstrated they have the talent, infrastructure, and vision to compete at the highest level in this innovative racing series.
