Breaking Barriers: Guild’s "Laps, Lips & Tips" Event Celebrates Women in Gaming
Guild is hosting an innovative celebration for International Women's Day that brings together the worlds of gaming, beauty, and female empowerment. Named "Laps, Lips & Tips" - the event will take place at the Sky Guild Gaming Centre on Saturday, March 8th from 12-4pm, offering free entry to all women looking to connect with like-minded individuals in the gaming community.
This year’s International Women’s Day theme is ‘Accelerate Action’ and our event aims to inspire and empower women through:
Laps: Sim Racing Challenges led by our Guild pro women gamers and Drive Lounge coaches, offering open access to inspire and engage women in the gaming community.
Lips: Beauty activations featuring leading brands, including tutorials, and product sampling
Tips: Panel discussions with influencers, industry experts, and thought leaders, sharing insights and empowering stories.
Notable gaming personality Frankie Ward will host the festivities, bringing her vibrant energy and industry expertise to the event. Among the confirmed speakers is Becca Yates from breast cancer awareness charity and event partner CoppaFeel!
The afternoon will be soundtracked by exceptional DJ sets from iconic fashion designer Pam Hogg and Voices Radio’s Jessica Louise Gladstone, creating a dynamic atmosphere for networking and celebration.
"Laps, Lips & Tips" builds on Guild’s ongoing commitment to supporting women in the gaming space. Last year, Guild partnered with Sky Broadband for the Women's Esports Finals, which resulted in three women gamers securing professional esports contracts with Guild, including two sim racers – a significant milestone in the traditionally male-dominated esports industry.
With backing from impressive partners including Drive Lounge, skincare brands Kiehl's and Malin+Goetz, and make-up & nail brand BarryM, the event promises to deliver valuable experiences and connections for attendees while championing female representation in gaming. Motorsport Woman also join as an event partner, supporting the end-to-end journey from sim to real life racing.
"We've designed this event on the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day ‘#AccelerateAction’ inviting all women into our unique gaming space where they can explore their talent in the world of sim racing and motorsports in this fun environment,” said Kristina Frost, Guild Director of Client Services.
"We feel this event reflects our belief that gaming culture should be accessible and enjoyable for everyone."
Whether you're a seasoned gamer, curious newcomer, or simply interested in connecting with a supportive community, "Laps, Lips & Tips" offers something for everyone. The event highlights Guild Gaming's dedication to fostering diversity within gaming spaces and creating opportunities for women to thrive in the industry.
